About Jon Patterson

State Representative Jon Patterson currently represents parts of Lee's Summit in the Missouri General Assembly.  First elected in 2018, Rep. Patterson has quickly risen up the ranks in Jefferson City and currently serves as Majority Leader in the House of Representatives.  

 

A native of Jackson County, Jon attended the University of Missouri, where he earned both his bachelor's and medical degrees.  After surgical residency at University Health in Kansas City, Jon was a practicing general surgeon in eastern Jackson County before entering politics.  Jon currently lives in Lee's Summit with his wife, Jennifer, and their two children, Leah and Andrew.

Jon's priorities include:

  • Fairness for citizens' property taxes in Jackson County

  • Improving roads and bridges

  • Improving access to education and childcare

  • Supporting public schools

  • Making cities and schools safer for citizens and children
